Detroit Lions
So over the weekend I saw that QB John Kitna was traded by the Lions to the Cowboys for CB Anthony Henry. As a Michigan native who is not a Lions fan I suppose I was happy to see those words crawl across the bottom of my television screen because anything that can help the Lions maybe win a game is always a positive. The puzzling thing though is what were the Cowboys thinking? The Lions were pretty much ready to release Kitna since he was on IR for half of the season last year with a minor injury...so the Cowboys decide to trade a decent CB for a whiny, old QB to back up Romo. Granted, Kitna is better then Brad Johnson, but why the trade? I don't know but at least somebody is trying to help out the Lions. Not being a Lions fan I found it quite ammusing that they were the first team in NFL history to go 0-16 but I'm not somebody who gets off on other peoples misfortunes. It's nice to know that the Lions are trying to improve their team and maybe win a game next year...I personally think the front office needs adjustment before Detroit can ever be respected as an NFL threat. Maybe with their two first round draft picks (one of them from the ever friendly Cowboys) they will draft somebody other then a WR and build up the rest of their team. Who knows, maybe next season they will have a winning record...let's not get too optimistic though.
